The beauty of our world.

Thu Nov 13, 2008, 6:39 PM
Beauty is definately in the eye of the beholder. I see some people that I think are downright gorgeous and others see them as ugly and insignificant. As well as vise-versa. That is all ok, everyone sees things differently. What I don't understand is how someone can find someone beautiful enough inside and out to get into a relationship with them and start trying to change them to fit their own ideals. What does that honestly accomplish? You supposedly fell in love with this person and thats why your together. How does it make any sence then to turn around and say something like you need to lose weight or wear more makeup or gain weight etc. You fell in love with them for who they were. Most people aren't tricked into liking someone. They end up liking someone because of a reason. Does the reason change? I understand maybe growing apart from someone because of an attitude change more than a physical change, but one of the amazing things about humanity is its ability to change. For the better most of the time. How would that person who is judging the other feel in return if say they were to start saying the same things. I.E- you're too skinny, too pale, to boring, you need to read more, etc. If you like the person then they shouldn't need to change a thing about themselves in order to make you happy. They definately shouldn't need to change a thing about themselves to get you to stay with them. What makes you so perfect that you feel other people need to fit your standards? I'm sure every person has something wrong with them, some flaw and that in itself is beauty. Even models are flawed. Everyone is. That is the reason why our world is wonderful. No one is the same. Even two identical twins have different personalities and likes. You will never find someone on this planet who is perfect in every facet of their being. Its just the way of the world. I've found someone who makes me utterly happy, even during miserable times I know I want to be there. I can't imagine a life without that person and it has nothing to do with flaws it has to do with a connection. If you don't have this connection and you feel you need to change something about the person you are with in order to be happy than you need to keep looking and stop wasting both of your times, or learn to appreciate the things in the person you do enjoy and stop focusing on petty little things.
